Activities & Arts

Creative endeavors and physical movement enhance learning as children develop fine and gross motor skills and learn how to work and play alongside and with their peers, how to follow rules, and the nuances of social interaction.

Athletics

Sports are an important part of our many after-school opportunities. Sanderson athletes participate in soccer, basketball, baseball, yoga, and other clubs that foster team spirit and physical fitness.

Arts

Sanderson students participate in a wide-ranging arts program that includes drama, jewelry making, crafts, and stage crafts. Each year, staff and volunteers produce a school-wide play, bringing in local drama and dance groups to share skills with our students. In the spring, our Student Art Show takes the center stage.

After-School Activities

The PTO offers various after-school programs throughout the school year. Look for information about these programs in your child's Thursday folder. If your child would like to participate in a program but it presents a financial hardship, please contact the principal. Our PTO strives to include everyone that would like to participate.

Mexican Exchange Program

Sanderson Academy has a long-standing Mexican student exchange program. Each year, students in sixth grade have the opportunity to travel to Mexico City and stay with host families for two weeks. Families in our community also open their homes to students from Mexico. It is a wonderful opportunity to explore another culture.
